Broadly, in the category, we're seeing a more new alcohol-free brands being launched in the UK, with trade mark filings for non-alcoholic cocktails jumping 19% in the past two years according to Mathys & Squire, the intellectual property (IP) law firm.
Interestingly, during the same period, new gin trade marks filed fell 9% from 642 to 582, while rum filings decreased 5% from 662 to 627 - a sign of changing preferences towards alcohol free.
Globally, the non-alcoholic spirits market, including gin, is experiencing significant growth, expanding from $0.44 billion in 2025 to $1.02 billion by 2035, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 8.8%.
This is largely thanks to the 65%+ of younger consumers say they are reducing alcohol intake with a focus on health and wellbeing.
It's a huge moment for non-alcoholic drinks and gin is one of the leaders in the UK, as our favourite spirit more generally.
